Tips For Posting to Your Journal:

  • Use simple, descriptive tags to and titles indicate the topic of your post.
  • Don't try to include too much information in one post. Break your content up into short paragraphs or multiple posts, especially if you are writing about more than one point or topic.
  • To draw readers to your journal, provide thought-provoking content, including links, resources, relevant insights and inspiring personal visions.
  • ALWAYS cite your source. In essence this means that if material is borrowed, you must say so. (For more on online citation, visit citation styles from Bedford / St.Martin's.)
  • In addition, we ask that you be as specific as possible about your relationship to the material/content contained in your post. Are you endorsing or supporting any outside organizations, services, products and persons mentioned, or simply bringing them up for discussion?
  • Observe reactions and close old topics as they grow tired.
  • Introduce new topics as needed. Need ideas? Visit VoicesRising to see how others are using their journals. You'll also find fresh news, commentary and opportunities from World Pulse Media's "editorial files" here: http://beta.pulsewire.net/node/528
